Following the success of "Skanless Summer", Revolt's top 11 rap albums of 2001, the series is back for more hot weather, crazy stories and skanless miracles. T.F. brings "Skanless Summer: 80z Babyz," a full-length, 15-track album produced entirely by Local Astronauts.
This project is the definition of cultural commentary from a South Central LA gang perspective. Each track details the mindset of active gang culture and the situations that trigger violent reactions. Unlike most current gangster rap artists, this album doesn't evoke feelings of ignorance, but rather reflects a John Singleton movie that builds understanding, empathy and authenticity.
The production is reminiscent of the 90's West Coast hip hop that rocked the world during the golden age of rap. The opening song sets the tone for the project, highlighting the original street codes and how they have been overlooked in today's street culture, leaving innocent people murdered. This project is an audio series with each track being an episode.
We believe that with the right support, TF will become one of the most influential artists on the West Coast in the coming years: 80z Babyz is an example of what's to come. Keep it up Skanless my good people!!!!
