Juno Award-winning Canadian hip-hop legends Swollen Members have returned with their first new music in over three years. The trio released a brand new single, "Triple Aces," produced by Rob The Viking, on all digital platforms today. The track begins with an eerie and ominous introduction that sets the tone before listeners are hit with Prevail's trademark aggressive and provocative lyricism, Rob The Viking's sinister beat, and Madchild's bloodthirsty intensity. Swollen Members make a triumphant return, resembling a three-headed monster ready to destroy everything in its path on "Triple Aces.
"We found some old tracks in the archives and we all agreed that some of them sounded like classic Swollen Members," commented Madchild. "Rob has created some fire beats, the verses are insane and the energy on these tracks is high. Triple Aces' is just the first of many new Swollen tracks to come.
Vancouver's Swollen members paved the way for hip-hop in the Great White North long before the global fame of artists like Drake or The Weeknd. They went on to earn gold and platinum records, and their performances became legendary, resembling punk and heavy metal concerts with mosh pits and crowd surfing unheard of in hip-hop at the time. In turn, the group cultivated a fanatical fan base, many of whom proudly displayed the Swollen Members' skull logo and battleaxes on their bodies. The group's intense blend of hip-hop would form a brotherhood that would eventually rise to global heights, celebrated with awards, sold-out shows and critical acclaim.
