Watch out at the edge of the platform, the "Transrapid" by Galv and Figub Brazlevic is arriving and inviting you on a shared odyssey through a landscape full of smooth beats and clever wordplay. A joint record by the two underground veterans was long overdue, after all, their paths have crossed again and again over the past 20 years or so. An entire track, "East-West Session", was dedicated to the musical friendship, based on the series of events that Figub has been running for years. The producer conjured up a coherent sound for Galv. The beats flow almost seamlessly into one another and yet never sound monotonous. The tempo of the journey is constantly being adjusted: while in some places it moves forward with pressing bass and drums, in others the MC's performance is deliberately put in the foreground. And - as is usual with Galv - it is impressive. The rapper glides so smoothly over the instrumentals that it might seem as if he wants to hypnotize the listener, as in the intro "Sasse", for example. But to ensure that no one falls asleep, the rapper often flows at top speed and in a Galv-typical, convoluted manner. The train travels through some exciting thematic spheres: In "Frames", for example, the rapper reminds us how important it is to consciously perceive even the smallest moments of one's own life. "Escucho Como Suena" is a bilingual track with Spanish parts and the hook sums it up - translated, it means something like "Listen to how it sounds". You should take your time with this, after all, Figub and Galv have provided the album with many details and the songs with sprawling intros and outros. But their train also features some top-class guests. Galv sits in carriage "One" with Lupara Versato and BICOOOOOOOOO. But Figub and Galv also keep a place free for other guests such as Samy Deluxe, Nali, Flo Mega and Noritsu. DJ Robert Smith provides some beats with suitable cuts and the Sons of Hadzi, the duo consisting of Figub and his brother, refine the album again and again with wonderful guitar sounds. This sound design and Galv's sophisticated lyrics mean that you want to listen to the album again and again. "If this doesn't become a classic, then German rap hasn't got something." - let's be honest, German rap hasn't got a lot of things. But if you can't get enough of lyrical finesse, rap at the highest technical level and beats that give you a sore neck, you shouldn't miss the "Transrapid". Off we go!
