Shitty Wizards by PENPALS & Dezmatic

A long time in the making, this is a collaboration between PENPALS and the one and only Dezmatic. The album's creation originates around pandemic times, while eating many clementines during quarantine. Mutual appreciation of various rhyme styles led to the project you hear before you, and it's a special one. For fans of Tolkien, toadstools, and Pretty Toney - these are the Shitty Wizards.
Nobody, and we mean NOBODY raps like Dez. A cross between DOOM and Rodney Dangerfield, the man is the master of the clever quip designed to make you chuckle and grimace alike at the absurdities of life. Swell & Bobby are also at the top of their game here, fueled by the creative magic that happens during some healthy competition. In the words of Dez, they're some Pulitzer-level puzzle makers, effortlessly drenched in style. For those who listen closely, no one is really touching them.
The album's also just fun as hell. The drums knock, the punchlines hit, and there's Adventure Time references galore. The record is both an acknowledgment of the collective abilities between the three writers and a display of their shared interests around word games, pizza parties, and Coen Brothers flicks. Plus watching a bunch of movies Sinbad has never been in.
The beatmaking sage SQ whips up a potent brew of bops as per usual, combining a collection of inventive sounds with gems excavated from archaic tapes. An assortment of talented rappers join the fray throughout the quest, adding their fellow expertise to the party. This is a world of warlocks, witchcraft, and weekend warriors. Serious spells being cast here.
